The Perry County Fair Association, in partnership with the Perry County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA) and Perry County Economic Alliance (PCEA), is leading an ambitious campaign to transform the Perry County Fairgrounds into a premier, year-round resource for agriculture, community events, business, and tourism.
The Heart of Our Community
For generations, the Perry County Fairgrounds has served as a gathering place for our community. It is where families create traditions, agricultural heritage is celebrated, local businesses connect with customers, and neighbors come together each year with anticipation for the Perry County Fair.
The Fairgrounds represents more than a location—it is a symbol of Perry County’s pride, heritage, and community spirit.
A Vision for Tomorrow
While the Fairgrounds has faithfully served our community for decades, many of its facilities no longer meet the needs of today’s visitors, exhibitors, and event organizers.
Together, we have an opportunity to transform the Fairgrounds into a modern, year-round resource while preserving the family-friendly, agricultural atmosphere that makes it uniquely Perry County.
Planned improvements include:
- Modern indoor restroom facilities
- Running water throughout the grounds
- Heating and air conditioning in key buildings
- Renovated event and exhibition spaces
- Improved accessibility for visitors of all abilities
- Enhanced infrastructure to support year-round programming
- Additional capital improvements that strengthen the Fairgrounds for future generations
More Than a Fair
The annual Perry County Community Fair will always remain at the heart of the Fairgrounds. Our vision is to build upon that tradition by creating a destination that serves the community throughout the entire year.
A revitalized Fairgrounds will create opportunities to host:
- Agricultural shows and educational events
- Weddings and private celebrations
- Conferences and business meetings
- Farm-to-table dinners
- Trade shows and vendor markets
- Community festivals and entertainment
- Youth programs and educational workshops
By expanding the use of the Fairgrounds beyond a single week each year, we can create new opportunities for tourism, support local businesses, and strengthen Perry County’s economy.
Building an Economic Engine
The revitalized Fairgrounds will become more than an event venue—it will be an economic catalyst.
More visitors mean more customers for local restaurants, retailers, lodging providers, and service businesses. Expanded programming will create new opportunities for agriculture, tourism, entrepreneurship, and community partnerships, generating long-term economic benefits throughout Perry County.
A Strong Foundation
The revitalization effort has already received significant support from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- $800,000+ in Pennsylvania Local Share Account (LSA) funding was previously awarded to support improvements at the Fairgrounds.
- An additional $1.265 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant was awarded in 2026 to renovate Building #6, creating a new lobby entrance, conference room, event space, commercial kitchen, modern restrooms, year-round HVAC, upgraded electrical service, and LED lighting. These improvements will allow the facility to serve agricultural organizations, community groups, businesses, and residents throughout the year.
These state investments demonstrate confidence in the vision for the Perry County Fairgrounds and provide a strong foundation for the next phase of improvements.
Capital Campaign
While recent grant awards represent a tremendous milestone for the Perry County Fairgrounds Revitalization Project, they will not fund the complete transformation of the Fairgrounds. Through our Capital Campaign, we aim to raise at least $1.5 million in private support to complement state funding and continue creating a modern, accessible, year-round destination for the community. Private donations will fund additional capital improvements, infrastructure enhancements, accessibility upgrades, and future phases of development that will benefit Perry County for generations to come. The Perry County Fairgrounds has served our community for generations, and now we have the opportunity to ensure it continues to do so for generations ahead. Your support will help preserve our agricultural heritage while creating new opportunities for economic growth, tourism, education, and community engagement. Together, public investment and private philanthropy will create a lasting legacy and build a Fairgrounds that reflects the pride, resilience, and vision of Perry County.
