New Bloomfield, PA (May 11, 2026) — – Perry County Hometowns / Main Street, a program of the Perry County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA), has launched the Perry County Downtown Perception Survey and is inviting residents, people who work in Perry County, business owners, property owners, volunteers, visitors, and families to participate.

The survey is designed to establish a baseline understanding of how people experience Perry County’s downtowns at the beginning of the new Main Street Matters designation period. Responses will help inform future downtown revitalization efforts and provide a point of comparison for future measurement.

The survey asks participants to share feedback on a range of topics related to downtown experience, including appearance, safety, business mix, activities and events, access and walkability, connections to parks and trails, family-friendly use, and food and dining.

Perry County Hometowns serves as the county’s regional Main Street program, supporting downtown revitalization across participating boroughs through local partnerships, coordinated promotion, and community-based implementation. The current strategy places special emphasis on strengthening downtown connections to trails, parks, and open spaces, enhancing everyday and family-friendly downtown use, and strengthening local food as a downtown economic driver.

“Community input is an important part of this work,” said Regional Main Street Coordinator Jasmine Colbert. “This survey will help us better understand current perceptions, identify strengths and opportunities, and create a baseline we can return to later in the designation period.”

The survey will remain open through June 1, 2026.

Perry County Hometowns is also encouraging boroughs, Main Street ambassadors, businesses, schools, nonprofits, and community groups to help share the survey so participation reflects a wide range of voices from across the county. Paper surveys will also be made available at borough offices and local libraries.
